Review: Akar Skin Soothe Face Oil

This months Ipsy bag came with some really cool stuff, one of them being the Akar Soothe Face Oil! I’m all about facial oils, as I think I’ve mentioned before. I apply them twice a day, morning and night. I just ran out of my Biossance squalene and vitamin c rose oil and I’ve been on the hunt for something new! When I saw this as one of my Ipsy items, I was super stoked!

I have the 0.07 oz sample bottle, which will last me about two weeks; 1 syringe-full in the morning and one at night. I’ve already been using it for a week. Here’s what I have to say:

On the website, they only advertise the 30 ml. bottle! But we’ll get into that. This is what their website has to say.

This will sound a little weird to some, but right off the bat, I noticed that it smells like Christmas trees. Totally reminds me of the holidays, which is nice considering it’s finally fall! 🍁

I have very oily skin year-round, but the areas around my nose do get dry in the cooler months. This oil does a great job at keeping my nose from getting too dry and peeling. The website states that the oil is good for dry to normal skin, but coming from someone who’s tried and researched it all, oils like this are wonderful for oily skin. I wouldn’t recommend slathering this on before applying makeup, though. And for my oily or acne-prone people, the oils in this will not clog your pores! ❤

There are so many beauty products and cosmetics that don’t work well with my skin (more specifically, cause breakouts) so I’m always cautious but I’m happy to say that this doesn’t disappoint! My skin actually looks brighter and less red, which is a huge plus.

So on to the part that’s a little less exciting.

The only downfall of this is if you were to buy a full size of it on the website…get ready for this…it’s $90. Yeah…probably won’t be buying the full size personally, but if you are really into face oils and want one with the absolute beat ingredients, this is for you.

Obviously it has a lot of great stuff in it. Totally makes sense why it is the price that it is. Baobab seed oil isn’t found in a ton of beauty products.

So in summary, of course, it’s really good stuff. Natural, has a beautiful scent and lasts awhile. If you are okay with the price point, it will definitely be worth your while!

I made this review short and sweet so you guys don’t have to read too much, but let me know what you think if you’ve tried it! ❤
